So many food conferences are limited to people who identify with one faction or another – but, not Food Integrity 2019.  

We are bringing together the two big players of Food Integrity – Food SAFETY and Food SECURITY to face off over a lively and informative two days.

Join us as we present an amazing mix of exceptional keynote addresses along side ‘Quick Fire’ sessions where experts impart their wisdom and knowledge in 10 minute presentations.

As a Delegate you will have the opportunity to talk with speakers (no more one old guy hogging the microphone at question time), interact with other delegates, enjoy a fantastic conference dinner, share expertise and knowledge.

Importantly, the work of this conference doesn’t finish with the last banner going down… we are committed to identifying some key take-home messages that will be broadcast around the globe.  Yep, we think its that important.

Shaun Kennedy

Director, The Food System Institute

Shaun Kennedy is Director of The Food System Institute, a food and agriculture system risk management and research organization, and an adjunct Associate Professor of Food Systems in the Department of Veterinary Population Medicine at the University of Minnesota.

Shaun’s work focuses on food safety, food fraud (as a member of the U.S. Pharmacopeia intentional adulteration of food expert panel), food security and food system resiliency with publications ranging from Science, Global Advances in Health and Medicine, Risk Analysis, and the Journal of Food Protection, among others.

Dr Marc Smith

Social Scientist, Node XL

Marc Smith is a sociologist specialising in the social organisation of online communities and computer mediated interaction. He founded and managed the Community Technologies Group at Microsoft Research in Redmond, Washington and led the development of social media reporting and analysis tools for Telligent Systems. Smith leads the Connected Action consulting group and lives and works in Silicon Valley, California. He is a co-founder of the Social Media Research Foundation which is dedicated to Open Tools, Open Data, and Open Scholarship related to social media.

Suzanne Snively ONZM

Chair, Transparency International New Zealand

Suzanne has chaired Transparency International New Zealand since 2012, focused on improving wellbeing by strengthening integrity of the public, non-profit and business sectors. She was a joint Co-Director with Murray Petrie of the comprehensive Integrity Plus 2013 New Zealand National Integrity System Assessment.

Katherine Rich

CEO, NZ Food and Grocery Council

Katherine is Chief Executive of the Food and Grocery Council, an industry association that advocates on behalf of companies marketing food and other fast moving consumer goods. She was a Member of Parliament 1999 – 2008 and prior to that held a number of agribusiness marketing roles. She is Chair of Fairtrade Australia New Zealand and the Parliamentary Education Trust and a Board member of the International Business Forum and children’s charity Barnardos.

Ash Whitaker

Co-founder, Cardrona Distillery (Dinner speaker)

“Knower of Drams” and “Guardian of the Source” are just two of the titles Ash Whitaker is known for.

Ash will take us through the process of developing this iconic and unique business the trials and tribulations and talk about the process from grain to glass.
