Shakeel is working as a Food Scientist at iMonitor ltd and a Master’s student at Auckland University of Technology. At iMonitor, he is working to gain expertise in maximizing the impact of APRI, a real-time temperature and humidity monitoring service on the food industry.
He brings recent overseas and local experience in quality assurance roles in the food and pharmaceutical industries. His current ongoing research efforts have been in extending the shelf life of fresh foods using novel methods.
Recently at iMonitor the research focus has been on predicting food quality based on the conditions the food are stored in before reaching the final customer.
